DISPLACED LANDSCAPES II

For the exhibition phase at Adélard, I presented a second edition of this installation. I hung about half the drawings produced at the Symposium, but this time visitors were invited to enter the installation.

I took advantage of my residency to continue experimenting with the installation and its materials. For this second edition of the work, I added broken mirrors to the installation. The idea of the mirror relates to the concept in many ways such as : the reflection of the image in the broken mirrors refers to water. The conflicts that give rise to the transformed landscapes in this work are partly due to water scarcity and the misallocation of water resources.

This work was presented in the exhibition Riopelle, Crossroads in Time, curated by Sylvie Lacerte at the National Gallery of Canada in 2023-24, and The Winnipeg Art Gallery in 2024.

Pour la phase d’exposition à Adélard, j’ai présenté une deuxième édition de cette installation. J’ai accroché environ la moitié des dessins produits lors du Symposium, mais cette fois-ci les visiteurs étaient invités à entrer dans l’installation.

J’ai profité de ma résidence pour continuer à expérimenter l’installation et ses matériaux. Pour cette deuxième édition de l’œuvre, j’ai ajouté des miroirs brisés à l’installation. L’idée du miroir est liée au concept de plusieurs manières, par exemple : la réflexion de l’image dans les miroirs brisés fait référence à l’eau. Les conflits qui donnent lieu aux paysages transformés dans cette œuvre sont en partie dus à la pénurie d’eau et à la mauvaise répartition des ressources en eau.

Cette œuvre a été présentée dans l’exposition Riopelle, à la croisée des temps, organisée par Sylvie Lacerte au Musée des beaux-arts du Canada en 2023-24, ainsi qu’à la Winnep Art Gallery en 2024.
